In 1984 Carter's Archery was nothing more than a fish market and bait shop. It
remained this way until I decided to try to sell a few archery supplies, so I
could hopefully support my archery hobby. Carter's Archery started in nothing
more than a 36x36x42 display case. We figured that mostly friends would buy the
archery supplies, so we were surprised when the archery soon began to outgrow
the bait business. We had to close the bait shop and concentrate on the archery
because it was growing faster than we'd ever dreamed.
In 1987 we closed the fish market because we needed more room and time to stay
on top of the fast growing sport and business of archery. Then archery began to
thrive, and in 1992 Carter's Archery had to move into a new facility. The new
facility housed some 3-D and indoor spot leagues, which were both a hit!
In 1995 Carter's Archery relocated to St. Joseph and put in the Dart Target system to go along with the indoor range. We have since sold the Dart system and have gotten into custom bow work and custom string manufacturing. This is an area that we enjoy because we believe in customer satisfaction!
Carter's Archery is now a fully operational archery pro shop where you can come in with nothing, and walk out with a total set-up from bow to quiver to arrows and releases. Carter's
Archery can assist both hunters and competition shooters. We have some of it
all, and if we don’t have what you need, we can order it.
Carter's Archery has two pro staff shooters on hand to help with all the
customers’ questions and needs. We don't want anyone to leave unhappy and take
pride in seeing the look of satisfaction and happiness on the customers’ faces
whenever they're ready to leave .
